Keep it up! We are half way there!

There's been a trend in Hollywood for movies about the apocalypse and end-of-the-world scenarios. Sometimes this is tied to zombies. Most the time it is about surviving in a chaotic society. With COVID19, this has brought up these weird scenarios and conversations. Could the vaccine be the start of the zombies? Is that what will wipe out all our first-responders? Is this how society will collapse? I think those are more questions for  a great movie plot than reality.

On the other hand, this has forced society to recognize that we are not immortal. Life as we know it is not infinite. There have been articles posted about how asteroids are passing by earth and one could strike. There's calculations on when the sun will fizzle out. Conversations like this cause people to ask two questions:

1) What's the meaning of my life and its purpose?

2) How do I prepare for the apocalypse?

Let's address the latter. How do I prepare for the end of the world? How do I prepare for Christ's return? Is it to stock up on toilet paper? (No. Just... no.) Is it to build up fortresses and stock up on ammo? Is it to hoard food? Verse 43 is the answer:

Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes.

Societal order and scientific discoveries should not shake the Christian. Let the world panic. We remain steadfast in doing what is right. The question in the mind and heart of the Believer should not be, "When is the world ending?" but rather, "Am I faithful to the task that the Master has called me to?"
