In Christ

Moss, Mississippi (April 13th, 2020)

A vicious tornado went through the quiet town of Moss. A family survived because they climbed into a concrete bunker-- a tornado shelter-- and remained in there for the duration of the storm. While the rest of the house was wrecked, the family and everything in that bunker was left untouched. Read the rest of the story here.

Many have looked at 2020 and said that this is the end times. Tornadoes, flooding, viruses, earthquakes, etc... And they are right-- because the end times started when Jesus left (Hebrews 1, Acts 2, 2 Tim 3, etc). But there is a Day to come that will be the ultimate return of Jesus. No matter what your views of eschatology are, there is a mutual understanding that Jesus will return.

Revelation is scary book to read in conjunction with Daniel. It paints a picture of God's wrath that will be unleashed upon the Earth. Those who stand in His way will be struck down. No mercy will be shown. It will be a dreadful, dreadful day.

Revelation 6:15-17
15 Then the kings of the earth and the great ones and the generals and the rich and the powerful, and everyone, slave and free, hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains, 16 calling to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who is seated on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb, 17 for the great day of their wrath has come, and who can stand?”

When God's wrath comes, people will beg for tornadoes and earthquakes so they have something to hide behind. Every news channel will call for everyone to take shelter. CDC, Homeland Security, Department of Defense.... no one is going to have any recommendations on how to survive this coming wrath

So please listen carefully and heed the words of John 3:36, "Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him."

This shelter is not one that we built or discovered. It was given to us by God Himself, guaranteed to hold up against this impending tragedy.
Romans 5:8, "God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. "

1 Thessalonians 1:10 commands us "to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come."

Jesus is our concrete shelter. Those who seek refuge in Him will survive the wrath of God that will come. If you look at the article in the link above, you'll see a photo of the shelter. It was a closet. Anything in that closet survived. Any good works you do that are in Christ will remain. Any work or investment made outside of Christ will be lost.

If you knew a record-breaking tornado is coming and you have a very large shelter, whom would you call up and invite? (Remember your dear ol' pastor and invite me!) If you had the capacity, wouldn't you warn everyone and invite everyone over? Whom would you invite into the God-made shelter of Jesus Christ?

The wrath of God is coming and human history as we know it will come to an abrupt END. Quickly seek refuge in the spear-pierced wound of Christ. Store up treasures for yourself in Heaven, because every world currency will lose all of its value and every work will amount to nothing.

It is a fearful and dreadful day... but only for those who are not in Christ. While we look forward to Jesus' return, know what it means for those who are not believers yet.

Take refuge, and thank God for the free shelter He gave us. Then quickly go and tell others to take refuge, too!
